Kindergarten - Grade 2

Ants

Ants are a great insect to view and learn about. We will bring an ant farm so students can watch the industrious insects at work as we discuss their body parts, eating habits, and living style.

Bugs Are Neat!

All kids are fascinated with insects. This demonstration will familiarize each child with the various types of insects, how bugs are made and what they are good for. Students will learn some basic classification, get to make their own bug, learn the differences that exist between bugs, and participate in a question and answer session.

Buzzing A Hive

Students will learn the basic structure and bodyparts of the honey bee, including the difference between the workers and the queen,by making their own bees. The class will also learn about life in a hive.

Mother Possum And Her Babies

Students will learn the about the habitats of ice and water, the different kinds of penguins, and how they raise their young.

Penguins And Their Young

Learn how baby possums grow, the role of the mother's pouch, and the tricks of the young.

Picnic In Space

The Picnic In Space program illustrates how the rotation ond revolution of the Earth cause stars and constellations to change positions in the night sky. Students will learn to find directions using the Sun and the stars, plus find and identify seasonal constellations.

Grade 3-5

Simple Machines

Have you ever wondered how certain mechanical things work? How does a zipper or a knife operate ? All this and much more will be explained and demonstrated in a clear and interesting way by our instructors. In Simple Machines, we teach such ideas as the fixed, movable, and block and tackle pulley system. We demonstrate the inclined plane, the wedge, and the simple lever.

Grade 6-12

Hands-on Universe

The Hands-on Universe curriculum integrates mathematics, science, and technology in the context of exciting astronomical explorations. Through the investigation of the solar system, galaxies, variable stars, and supernovae, students develop problem-solving techniques and critical thinking skills. Using beautiful images of stars, planets, and galaxies, the students are guided through the process of image manipulation and data analysis.
