Reservation Process

  • Reservations are required for all groups.

  • Start your reservation by completing the online reservation form.

  • Provide as much information about your field trip requirements as you can on the form.

  • Allow Drake’s team to put together the best field-trip experience possible and to contact you at your convenience to discuss your options or to complete the reservation.

Of course, you are always welcome to call us directly from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday at 513-396-5578, but the fastest and most effective way to make a reservation for most trip planners will start with our convenient online reservation form. Upon receipt, we will contact you to confirm your date. Reservation form requires a nonrefundable deposit. This deposit will be deducted from your balance.

Field Trip FAQs

  • All of our programming is blocked in one-hour increments.

  • Groups of 25 or less = Minimum Charge for 1 hour in the Planetarium or Lego lab is $250.

  • Groups larger than 25 are $10 per person, per hour. Please contact us at 513-396-5578 with any questions.

Every student and adult (including any participating educators, parents, and/or bus drivers) in your group requires a ticket. As we know that adult supervision is required, we gladly provide your group with one free adult ticket for every 25 people. All adults (including parents) should be counted in your group reservation numbers. Drake Planetarium & Science Center cannot guarantee seating for adults who do not have reserved seats.

Important Information for Charter Operators & Other Third Parties
When making field trip reservations, it is Drake Planetarium’s policy to communicate directly with an official representative of the visiting school or group. If a third party arranges a field trip visit, that third party will bear financial responsibility for the visit, and payment for the visit must be received by two weeks in advance of the visit. “Third party” is defined as a company or organization representative (such as a charter operator, travel agent, or other paid or unpaid trip planner) or other individual who is not a regular employee or official of the school or group.
